Woo hoo!!!!

My visa has finally arrived. After an excruciating wait of six months.. its finally here. There is direction at long last. I know where I'm going. Seriously, sitting at home is good for a while but since the beginning of this month its been insane. There's only so much time one can spend doing nothing. On the upside, this was my first real break since... forever. I've never really had that much time to myself. I resolved a number of personal issues that had been festering on the back burner for quite a while. So I'm a better person at the end of it all I think. Always a silver lining I guess. I've learned how to cook a number of dishes and I've found that I'm rather good at it if I may say so myself. I have perfected my tea recipe except for one occasion where something went terribly wrong. That and I can't ever remember watching three movies in a day. That calls for some sort of celebration I guess.

Over the wait, with the bulk of my social circle in the US or in Islamabad, Facebook and Google Talk have kept me going. They've kept me in touch with close friends (you know who you are). Its amazing what a word of encouragement from the right people can do for morale, even if you've heard it a million times before. A simple "hang in there man", or "praying for you buddy", or "it'll work out yaar.. ho jaye ga, don't worry" goes a long way towards making one feel better - even if its simply a text message or a wall post on Facebook.

Other than that, today is one of those interesting days. All kinds of stuff happening most of which can't be mentioned on this somewhat public forum. But the coming few days should be fun. Two of my closest friends are getting married - to each other. So that should be something to look forward to among the plethora of weddings that inevitably occur at the end of the year. Another friend got married recently and that was fun too. And after those celebrations I fly off to the US at last. I've been looking forward to this for a heck of a long time and its finally materializing. "Woo hoo" is perhaps the best way to describe the feeling.
